Drupal is a tool used for organizations to build and maintain internet community sites. Drupal is one example of a content management system (CMS). CMS tools allow websites to be built without programming skills. Drupal will be an excellent platform for the new City Gates Academy website due to its many features:

• It will allow CGA staff, parents and students to build and maintain pages in their own area(s) of interest/responsibility.
• It has a large library of add-on functions to support features such as forums, blogs, contacts, email subscriptions and more.
• Access permission control permits school members to see and do just the things needed in their role.
• Drpual has strong ties to the academic community including the openacademic.org project.
